FG gives states N260bn to revitalise primary healthcare centres – Pate

Primary health centres struggle despite Buhari’s revival pledge

Muhammad Pate, the coordinating minister of health and social welfare on Friday disclosed that the federal government has disbursed the sum of N260 billion to the 36 states aimed at revitalising primary health centres (PHCs).
 

“N260 billion is sitting right now at the state level for the revitalisation of their primary healthcare centres”, Pate said on Friday when he featured at the ministerial sectoral update organised by the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.

He said the Government has set a target to revitalise up to 17,000 primary healthcare centres to improve citizens’ access to quality healthcare.

The minister noted that part of the N260 billion is from the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund.
