FG directs NADDC to extend auto-tecnician trainings to all Local government in the country

Federal government has directed the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) to extend its training for auto technicians to all local government area across the country.

Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Industry,Trade and Investments made this known in Kano at the weekend at the the graduation ceremony of 300 auto technicians specifically trained on heavy duty vehicle repairs and maintenance.

According to the permanent secretary, expanding auto technician trainings in various local governments across the country would help to address emergency heavy duty vehicle maintenance in remote villages across the country,while empowering youths in such areas with hands-on-skills.

Jelani Aliyu,the director general of NADDC said the training is part of the mandate of the council to facilitate man power skills development as contained in the National Automotive Industrial Development Plan.

He stated that apart from the 300 graduates recorded,over 20 000 youths have been trained on skills development as professional auto technicians in line with new technological developments.

He further noted that the training would help address concerns of youths seeking greener pasture outside the country,since a platorm has been created for them.

Aliyu stated that specialised training centres for auto technicians have been built by the NADDC in each geopolitical zone across the country which will offer more advanced vehicle electrification and new technologies that exists in new type vehicles.
