Justice John Tsoho, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, has approved a new posting schedule for judges, reassigning them across judicial divisions in Nigeria to strengthen the Court’s capacity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement on Friday, Catherine Christopher, Director of Information at the Court, said the affected judges are to report to their new stations on Wednesday, 13 May 2026.
Justice Hassan Dikko has been posted to Gusau in Zamfara State, while Justices Salim Olasupo Ibrahim and Onah Chigozie Sergius will remain in Abuja.
Justice Sulaiman Amida Hassan has been reassigned to Osogbo in Osun State. Other postings include Minna, Niger State; Akure, Ondo State; Yenagoa, Bayelsa State; Abakaliki, Ebonyi State; Gombe, Gombe State; Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State; Damaturu, Yobe State; Uyo, Akwa Ibom State; Maiduguri, Borno State; Dutse, Jigawa State; Lokoja, Kogi State; and Lagos, where two judges have been assigned.
The statement noted that the newly appointed judges were carefully vetted and recommended by the National Judicial Council (NJC) following thorough evaluations of their academic qualifications and professional conduct.
Upon appointment, they were attached to senior judges to gain practical experience in litigation management and courtroom proceedings.
The Chief Judge’s directive underscores the Court’s commitment to maintaining an efficient judicial presence nationwide, ensuring the timely adjudication of cases during a period of heightened electoral activity.
