The operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police rescued two kidnapped victims in the early hours of Wednesday in Abuja amid a gun battle.
This rescue was confirmed in an official statement issued by Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer for the FCT Police Command, on Wednesday.
The operation started following the alarming report of the abduction of two individuals, identified as Sarah Hassan and Erima Bobo-John, from the Kobi Community of Abuja.

“The victims had fallen prey to armed hoodlums in the early hours of the same day.
Responding to the distress call, police operatives from the Asokoro Divisional Headquarters launched a coordinated effort, tracking the kidnappers to Nyanya/Keffi road.
The pursuit led to a confrontation when the criminals were intercepted by Nigerian Army operatives conducting checkpoint operations in the area.

A fierce gun battle ensued between the police and the bandits, but the police prevailed, forcing the kidnappers to abandon their captives and retreat into the nearby forest.
“Miraculously, both Sarah Hassan and Erima Bobo-John were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their families”, Adeh stated.
The FCT Police Command, through its spokesperson, urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly.
