Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbemiga, the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Police Command, has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Tactical Commanders, and other operational units of the Command to ensure adequate and watertight security arrangements across the State throughout the Eid-el-Kabir celebration period.

While felicitating with Muslim faithful on the occasion of the celebration, the Commissioner of Police enjoined them to use the period to pray for the continued peace, progress, and security of Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

He further admonished residents to remain law-abiding and celebrate responsibly in accordance with the extant laws of the land.

In line with this directive, tactical teams, detectives, intelligence operatives, and conventional police personnel have been strategically deployed to worship centres, recreational spots, public gatherings, highways, and hinterlands across the State to forestall any untoward activities and guarantee the safety of travellers and other residents during the festive period.

Ayanlade Olayinka, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Police Command, in a statement, stated that the Commissioner of Police reassures the good people of Oyo State of the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property. He therefore urges members of the public to continue to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies by providing credible and timely information that will aid proactive crime prevention and effective policing.
