An official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), identified only as Sylvanus, has been found dead on a street in Lagos State.
In a viral video circulating online, the deceased was seen dressed in burgundy traditional attire, lying lifeless on the road.
The scene attracted onlookers, including two police officers, who searched a small bag he was carrying in an attempt to identify him.

An identity card retrieved from his belongings confirmed that the deceased was an EFCC official.
Voices in the background of the video, including that of a police officer, could be heard saying, “Where e dey work, nah EFCC. His ID card dey there.”
While the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
“The death is being investigated,” Oyewale said.

This incident comes just two weeks after another EFCC officer, Aminu Salisu, was fatally shot by a suspected fraudster, Joshua Chukwubueze Ikechukwu.
The tragic loss of Sylvanus has raised further questions about the safety of EFCC operatives, particularly in the line of duty.
