EdoJobs beneficiaries offer free medical services, distribute palliatives to residents

The joy and excitement of residents of Ugbiyokho Community in Benin City, the Edo State capital, knew no bounds as beneficiaries of the different job creation and skills development initiatives of the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration at the weekend offered free medical services and distributed relief materials to over 1,000 of them in celebration of the governor’s victory in the September 19 governorship poll.

The beneficiaries under the Edo State Skills Development Agency (EdoJobs) offered free products including clothing for adults and children, household items including electronics and food items.

Among the free services rendered were medical services, haircut, makeup artistry, face painting and hair styling.

The programme, tagged “EdoJobbers’ Thanksgiving and Charity Event”, took place at UNIFAC Group of Schools, along Upper Ekenhuan Road, Ugbiyokho, Benin City.

According to the Managing Director, EdoJobs, Ukinebo Dare, the charity event was put together by the different beneficiaries of the agency’s intervention programmes in the last three years and 11 months in celebration of the governor’s reelection.

She noted that the gesture showcased the different services being offered by EdoJobbers and celebrated the achievements of the governor, especially in terms of capacity building, skills development and youth empowerment.

Also, the councillor representing Ward 1, Egor Local Government Area, Eghe Oseki, thanked the EdoJobbers for the kind gesture, praying God to bless them immensely.

“When I was called by the EdoJobbers that they were going to organise a thanksgiving and charity event to celebrate the victory of Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Rt. Hon. Comr. Philip Shaibu, I was so happy and decided to support them to ensure that the programme was a success because when my people are happy, I am happy,” Oseki said.

“We thank them for this kind gesture and for remembering our people in their celebration. We pray that Almighty God will replenish their purses and grant the governor the wisdom to lead Edo people,” she said.

A beneficiary, Joy Isaac, thanked the governor and the EdoJobbers for the gifts, expressing optimism that the governor will not disappoint the people.
