Edo re-accredits vigilante personnel

The Edo State government has begun the reaccreditation of over 6500 personnel of the State’s Security Vigilante Network (ESSVN).

Kole Omomia, the coordinator of ESSVN, in a statement, confirmed that profiling and training were held between Friday, February 2, and Sunday, February 4, 2024.

According to him, the reaccreditation exercise was only for trained vigilante operatives in the state.

“Following Governor Godwin Obaseki’s directive, the Edo State Security Vigilante Network has started the reaccreditation and training of 6,500 ESVN operatives in the state.”

Omomia noted that on Saturday, February 3, 2024, the exercise took place in Ovia North East between 9 and 11 am and in Ovia South East from 1 to 3 pm.

The reaccreditation ended on Sunday, February 4, 2024, in Uhunmwonde between 9 and 11 am and Orhiomnwon from 1 to 3 pm.
