Edo plans to train 25,000 youths for skills acquisition in 2025

As part of its human capital development, job and wealth creation, the Edo State Skills Development Agency (EdoJobs), has announced plans to train 25,000 youths in various skills in the 2025 fiscal year.

Kerimu Kelly, Managing Director of the Agency, stated this on Thursday in Benin City when the Executive members of the Grassroots Massive Mobilisation Support Group (GMMSG) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo State Chapter, paid him a courtesy call.

He said the initiative was part of the State Government’s efforts to empowering young people and making them self-sufficient, adding that arrangements had been concluded to start with training on hairdressing, vulcanising and fashion designing.

“I am always passionate about the grassroot and what we do here is to train with the support of the government and other partners like the World Bank.

“We will continue to partner with you. We will ensure the age-long partnership is reactivated. We have drawn up our activities for the year and we will find a way to incorporate you. We will see how to fix the group,” he said.

Earlier, Omoyemwen Adeyinka-Afolabi, Coordinator of the Group, said the visit was to familiarise with the office as a partner for youth development, explaining that the Group had been interfacing between the youths at the grassroots and the State Government through the EdoJobs training for years.
