Chigozie Ogbu, Professor and Vice-Chancellor, of Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, says the University has upgraded to a cashless system where payment goes through the school portal and it’s being centrally controlled to fight financial leakages.
Ogbu, who spoke at the University’s permanent site during a media chat on the 12th-15th Convocation ceremony of the university slated for Saturday, April 20th, 2024, noted that the cashless system had therefore reduced financial leakages in the institution.
“The university runs on a cashless system where every payment goes through the portal and is controlled centrally. This has reduced financial leakages.
Introduction of one-point- registration enables us to ensure a stress-free online registration of courses, generation of Matriculation number, and access to results.
Ogbu further said the digitalization of students and personal records were ongoing and would ensure smooth data processing, including the issuance of transcripts.
The Vice Chancellor however called for proper equipment of Nigeria’s educational system and by so doing, it would restore the status of the educational sector for the building of future leaders in the Country.
