As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and to give back to society, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Indomie instant noodles, has reached out to the underprivileged by donating several cartons of its products to some selected orphanages and homes for the aged in key cities across the country.
In Lagos, the Indomie team visited Heritage Home – Anthony, Little Saints Orphanage – Ilupeju, Real Woman Foundation Love Home Orphanage – Magodo, Nigerian Red Cross Society – Makoko, Society for the Blind – Oshodi, Holy Family Home for the Elderly – Regina Mundi, Alakara, Elderly Care Home – Oki Lane Maryland, Heart of Gold Hospices – Surulere and Modupe Cole Memorial Childcare – Akoka, among others.
Speaking during the Lagos visits, Tope Ashiwaju, group corporate communications and events manager for Dufil, said the months of December/January are months of giving and one of the best times to show love and admiration.
According to him, “The donation is an avenue for the company to show love to the less privileged in the society, including the orphans by putting smiles on their faces. In the spirit of the season, the management and staff of Dufil Prima Foods Ltd want everyone to have something to cheer for.”
Ashiwaju said that the company believes so much in giving a reasonable proportion of profit earned back to society through its varied corporate social responsibility initiatives which had far-reaching effects in the lives of Nigerians.
He said further that Dufil recently boosted Nigerian Teachers’ Value with Educational Tools by organising a value-added seminar for teachers in public and private schools across the country.
“We have also awarded millions of naira in education support grants to indigent primary and secondary school students across the country, donated hospital equipment to Pediatrics wards of major hospitals across the country to take care of the children and mothers, as well as donated Science Laboratory Equipment to schools,” he said.
Receiving the Indomie team at the Little Saints Orphanage Ilupeju, Maryann Ekanem-Akpan, administrator, expressed her excitement at the donations to the Home by Indomie.
She commended Indomie for its continuous generosity and thoughtfulness towards the home, adding that the gesture will give them a sense of belonging and make the children feel loved during the season.
