Despite Covid-19 disruptions, Chippy Record plans to unleash new projects

Despite the COVID-19 disruptions which impacted the entertainment industry, CEO of Chippy Record label, Okedara Ibitoye Ezekiel, aka Chippy Toye said the label will be unleashing new projects.

Where many organisations have given up on the year 2020 and are pessimistic about the future due to the devastation of Covid-19, Chippy Records Label is looking ahead to the coming year with optimism to elevate its brand to the next level.

“For Chippy Records, the year isn’t ended yet. We have quite a number of projects that have been put on hold due to Covid-19, such as the DLIC (Dagizah Live In Concert), unreleased music videos and recorded singles from our studios that are yet to be shown to the world. Covid-19 only delayed these developments. We will soon unleash them at the appropriate time,” he said.

Despite the devastations wreaked on the entertainment industry by Covid-19, Chippy Toye, however, did not see the disruption as a major challenge. “There have been challenges. I won’t say there have been major ones, because when you get to work with a committed team as a family, everything gets easier,” he said instead.

On what young Nigerians need to do to become economically empowered in the face of the prevailing reality of the country presently, he advised: “Youths across the country would always have the hustling spirit in them, but it should be used right. I’d say they should focus on building themselves in the career path first before anything else, that would save them a lot of problems.”

Looking ahead, the music business executive spoke about taking his record label to great heights in the next 10 years. “Chippy Record’s growth is amazing through this first one year of establishment, and we would always work to get the brand amongst one of the best in the country and beyond in 10 years or less, that’s the future I see,” he stated.
