Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has said that deployment of modern agricultural machinery will significantly ease the burden on farmers and relevant Government agencies.

The governor said this during distribution of 40 newly-acquired tractors alongside other heavy-duty equipment to farmers, under the ACReSAL programme supported by the World Bank, held at Ahmadu Bello International Conference Centre in Bauchi.

He said that the distribution would accelerate the adoption of mechanised farming and large-scale land restoration efforts throughout the State.

He further said that the initiative reflects his administration’s strong commitment to agricultural modernisation, environmental protection and improvement of livelihoods in rural communities across Bauchi State.

The governor described the ACReSAL programme as a critical intervention in addressing pressing environmental and climate-related challenges, including unpredictable weather patterns, land degradation, prolonged dry seasons, and flooding.

Governor Bala Mohammed also reaffirmed his Administration’s policy of working closely with credible global partners and development programmes to improve living conditions and expand economic opportunities for the people of Bauchi State.

Also speaking during the distribution, Ibrahim Kabir, Bauchi State ACReSAL Project Coordinator, explained that the equipment was procured to strengthen the effective implementation of the programme.

Kabir stated that the machinery would boost productivity, promote environmentally sustainable farming practices, and reduce the adverse effects of climate-related challenges.

He commended Governor Bala Mohammed for supporting the ACReSAL programme, assuring that the equipment would be properly maintained to guarantee long-term benefits and measurable impact for communities across Bauchi State.
