The Federal Capital Territory High Court on Thursday approved the request of Godwin Emefiele, ex-Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, to travel out of Abuja.
The court, however, specified that Emefiele must stay within the country, adhering to the bail terms that restrict his movements to the Federal Capital Territory.
Emiefele is in court seeking a modification of his bail conditions.
The initial bail conditions confined Emefiele to the Federal Capital Territory, but the current proceedings aim to revise these terms.
Emefiele, facing trial on six counts related to procurement fraud amounting to N1.2 billion, made the plea through his legal representative, Mathew Bukka.
The embattled ex-governor was released from the Kuje Correctional Centre on December 23, 2023.
