Chowdeck, an on-demand delivery platform operating in West Africa, has appointed Nigerian footballer Ogenyi Onazi (MON) as its new brand ambassador. The partnership brings together a former Super Eagles player with a technology company that provides access to food, groceries, and everyday essentials across Nigeria and Ghana.

Ogenyi Onazi has represented Nigeria 52 times and was part of the team that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. He also featured in the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups. His club career includes winning the Coppa Italia with SS Lazio in 2012/13 and the Turkish Cup with Trabzonspor in 2019/20. Onazi has been recognised for his contribution to the nation with the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) award.

Commenting on his new role, Onazi said, “I’ve always admired brands that prioritize the needs of everyday people through innovation and hard work. Chowdeck isn’t just an app; it’s a lifeline for many, providing jobs for thousands of riders and convenience for millions of customers. I am excited to join this winning team and help deliver happiness across Africa.”

Femi Aluko, Co-founder and CEO of Chowdeck, explained the decision to appoint Onazi. “Bringing Ogenyi Onazi on board as a brand ambassador is a reflection of where we are going as a brand. He represents the energy, ambition and authenticity of the modern Nigerian consumer. As we scale our operations and deepen our roots in the community, it is important that our brand remains relatable, trusted and deeply connected to the people we serve. Onazi’s journey from local talent to international stardom mirrors our own aspirations to take African logistics to the world stage.”

Chowdeck has expanded its operations across 14 cities in Nigeria and Ghana and recently reached 2 million registered users. The platform allows businesses to deliver orders in an average of 30 minutes and offers customers access to meals, groceries, and other essentials through a technology-enabled logistics network.

The appointment of Onazi is part of Chowdeck’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in West Africa and engage with local communities. The company aims to maintain reliable services while creating opportunities for its riders and partners. By collaborating with a figure who has achieved success both locally and internationally, Chowdeck seeks to reinforce its commitment to growth and service delivery across the region.
