Beyond her own initiative, Jecinta has extended her mentorship through organisations such as She Code Africa, WeTech, and Girls in Tech Nigeria, contributing to broader efforts to support women in technology.
Her role across these platforms includes leading training sessions, reviewing portfolios, and providing structured guidance, directly influencing the professional growth of emerging designers.
Tech and Tell: Democratising Industry Knowledge
Recognising the limits of one-on-one mentorship, Jecinta launched Tech and Tell, a YouTube channel and podcast focused on sharing real-world insights from product designers and tech professionals.
Built on the principle of accessibility, the platform has grown to over 2,000 subscribers and more than 5,000 views, covering topics such as design impact metrics, business value of design, and the integration of artificial intelligence into workflows.
“The goal was to capture real experiences from industry professionals and make those insights accessible to anyone, anywhere,” she explained.
Professional Impact at Youverify
Jecinta’s community work is grounded in her professional practice. At regtech firm Youverify, she led the design of YouverifyOS, the company’s core platform.
Her contributions were instrumental in driving a 300% increase in customer growth, scaling verification processes to serve over five million users. Her work also supported the company’s successful $1 million seed funding raise, highlighting the commercial value of strong product design.
