The Borno State government has released an update on pledges and actual receipts of donations for the Maiduguri relief fund for victims of the dire devil flood disasters.
The list of donors includes the African richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Business Mogul Aminu Danata, the 2023 Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter, his People’s Democratic Party counterpart Atiku Abubakar, and eight States of the federation and NGOs as well as individuals donations to Maiduguri relief fund.
This was contained in an update on pledges and actual receipts of donations for Maiduguri relief fund as of Wednesday, 18th September 2024, signed by Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, the SSA New Media to Borno state Governor.
The amounts listed were credited to the Maiduguri Relief Fund for the Borno State Government. Similarly, details of the redeemed pledges of donations and material support will be announced in due course.
The statement made available to newsmen Wednesday evening stressed that the list comprised that of pledges and actual receipts of donations and support to the Government of Borno State from corporate entities, state governments, State and National Assembly members, individuals, and non-governmental organisations are detailed below.
“Kindly note that not all amounts listed were credited to the Maiduguri Relief Fund for the Borno State Government. Similarly, details of the redeemed pledges of donations and material support will be announced in due course.

4. General Buba Marwa (Rtd) = 10 trucks load of fertiliser worth N120m
5. Hon Aminu Jaji (HOR) = 600 bags of rice
6. Nigerian Society of Engineers, Borno State Chapter = 10,000 wrappers
