Boniface flaunts Europa League Golden Boot Award

Following his exceptional performance in the 2022/23 Uefa Europa League, Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has officially received his Golden Boot award.

The Bayer Leverkusen forward was presented with his Golden Boot prize after finishing joint top scorer with six goals in the UEFA Europa League last season

The Super Eagles striker shared the award with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

The 22-year-old was awarded the award ahead of Bayer Leverkusen’s home clash against Qarabag FK at the BayArena on Thursday night.

The highly-rated Nigerian striker was also on target on the night as he scored his 10th goal of the season and also registered one assist for Bayer Leverkusen in his side’s 5-1 win over Azerbaijani.

The sensational 22-year-old Nigerian striker took to his social media account to boldly flaunt the award. “Aboki go think say na iron” in Nigerian pidgin, which translates to, “My Nigerian friend will think it’s iron.”

The highly in-form Super Eagles striker has also been impressive since joining Leverkusen in a €20m deal from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise last transfer window and has scored 10 goals, with four assists in twelve matches across all competitions this season.
