Sadique Abubakar, the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the March 18, 2023 governorship election in Bauchi State, on Monday, said that they have hope in God and the judiciary to “retrieve their mandate” from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Abubakar, a retired air marshal and former Nigeria’s chief of air staff, said during an interview with newsmen at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi, that, “the APC is ready to collect the mantle of power from the ruling PDP in Bauchi State.
He said: “I want to believe that the judicial system of Nigeria is reliable, and I am sure that at the end of the day, we’ll get back our mandate. Once we retrieve the mandate, we promise the people what we will do immediately.
“I want to thank, most sincerely, members of the APC in Bauchi State for their patience and understanding, considering what happened after the election.
The gubernatorial candidate said he was ready to legally pursue the fight to reclaim his mandate because, according to him, he and the APC won the election and were ready to prove that at the tribunal.
He, therefore, called on all members of the APC to remain committed and supportive of the party at all levels.
