Abdullahi Ibrahim Beli and Usman Adamu, Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively, of Shira Local Government Council of Bauchi State, were on Monday impeached by the Councillors in the Local Government.

Wali Adamu who is the Leader of the House (Councillors’ Leader) disclosed this to newsmen in Bauchi, when he led other Councillors to the State House of Assembly for notification as required by the law.

Adamu, the House Leader cited illegitimacy and one-sided operation by the sacked Chairman in managing the affairs of the Local Government, having earlier warned him for one month before the impeachment.

He said he would be the one in charge of Shira Local Government’s Administration pending the decision of the Bauchi State House of Assembly.

Attempts made to reach the impeached Shira Local Government Chairman and his deputy were futile as they could not be reached.
