Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has approved recruitment of 3,000 teachers to be deployed to Junior and Senior Secondary schools in all the 20 local governments that are domiciled in the State.
Ali Umar Gar, the Project Coordinator for AGILE, announced this in Bauchi, during a sensitisation meeting on the Girls Scholarship Programme. adding that the initiative was part of the State’s commitment to the objectives of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project.

According to Ali Gar, the Project Coordinator of AGILE in the State, 2,000 of the recruited teachers would be assigned to Junior Secondary Schools, while 1,000 would serve in Senior Secondary Schools.
He said that the recruitment was aimed addressing the pupil-to-teacher ratio gap in schools, adding that the newly recruited teachers would be employed by the Bauchi State Government and would be selected from the beneficiary communities to enhance participation and foster a sense of ownership.
He added that the State Government had also commenced the Conditional Cash Transfers for approximately 9,000 registered girls under the initiative.
