AREWA24, Hausa language family entertainment, lifestyle television network and production studio in Nigeria and across West Africa, says in a statement that it has filed a N10 billon defamation suit against Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan, Atar Communications Nigeria Limited (operators of Liberty TV and Radio) and the Northern Broadcast Media Owners Association (NBMOA), following a series of false, damaging, and unsubstantiated allegations made against the company.

The legal action, according to the statement filed at the State High Court (Jalingo), seeks redress for reputational damage and financial losses arising from statements allegedly issued by NBMOA and Tijjani Ramalan that AREWA24 asserts are misleading and injurious to its brand and operations. The company maintains that the claims lack any factual basis and have the potential to erode the trust it has built with its audiences, partners, and stakeholders over the years.

In the statement, AREWA24 emphasized its commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and responsible programming. “We have built our reputation on credible, culturally relevant, and impactful entertainment content that serves millions of viewers across Nigeria, West Africa and beyond”
