Another headmaster abducted in Oyo as kidnappers demand N30m ransom

The headmaster of Nomadic Basic School, Igbojaye, in the Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State, Owoade Matthew Kolawale, has been abducted by unknown gunmen.

This is coming days after the release of teachers and pupils in Oriire LGA who were abducted on May 15 this year

The NUT Chairman, Itesiwaju LGA, Fabiyi Folashade, also raised the alarm that the Head Master (HM) of Nomadic Basic School (NBS), Ogodu, Igbojaye, Owoade, was kidnapped on Saturday evening.

The victim, it was gathered, was returning from his farm at Budo Aare in the area when he was kidnapped around 6 p.m.

However, a search team on Sunday recovered the victim’s motorcycle, which was abandoned in the bush.

According to the victim’s son, shortly after the abduction, the kidnappers contacted the family using the victim’s mobile phone and demanded a ransom of thirty million naira (N30,000,000) for his release.

While confirming the incident, Olayinka Ayanlade, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the culprits and ensure the safe release of the abductee.
