The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will on Wednesday inaugurate its National Governorship Campaign Council for the forthcoming Ekiti State Governorship election as it intensifies preparations for the poll.
The party disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday by Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary.
According to Morka, the inauguration will take place at the Kashim Shettima Hall of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.
He said the Campaign Council would be chaired by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, serving as Co-chairman, while Senate Leader Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (Ekiti Central) will function as Secretary.
Morka noted that the Council comprises serving and former governors, principal officers of the National Assembly and other senior party stakeholders charged with coordinating and driving the APC’s campaign efforts ahead of the election.
“To ensure a robust and well-coordinated campaign, the party has constituted several subcommittees covering strategic areas such as election planning and management, finance and resource mobilisation, grassroots mobilisation, logistics, protocol, media and publicity, security, women and youth mobilisation, as well as secretariat operations,” Morka said.
He described the inauguration as a key milestone in the party’s mobilisation drive across Ekiti State, expressing confidence that the APC is positioning itself for victory in the Governorship contest.
