Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, senator representing Kogi Central, has alleged that her challenges in the Senate began after she rejected sexual advances from Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Speaking in an interview with Arise TV on Friday, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan claimed to have evidence to support her allegations, adding that her husband is also a witness.
“Mine is the case of a student being punished by a lecturer for refusing to sleep with him,” she said.
Her comments come amid an ongoing dispute with Akpabio, which escalated on February 20 when the two engaged in a heated exchange on the Senate floor over a change in seating arrangements.
The conflict arose after Akpoti-Uduaghan’s seat was reassigned at the start of plenary, a move she resisted.
The matter was later referred to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, chaired by Neda Imaseun (LP, Edo South), for disciplinary review. The committee was given two weeks to submit its findings.
Meanwhile, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has filed a N100.3 billion fundamental human rights lawsuit against Akpabio.
