Air passengers in Anambra, C’river, Lagos paid highest fare in November

Air passengers in Anambra, Cross River, Lagos and Jigawa States paid the highest fare in November 2020. In its latest report titled: “Transport Fare Watch (November 2020)” by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), air passengers in Anambra and Cross River paid the highest fare of N38,500, Lagos air passengers paid N38,400 and Jigawa paid N38,260.

The report revealed that air passengers from Akwa Ibom, paid N32,500; Sokoto, N33,200; while from Gombe, paid N34,550, the lowest airfare

According to NBS, “the average fare paid by air passengers for specified routes one-way journey increased by 0.13 percent month-on-month and by 18.47 percent year-on-year to N36, 301.74 in November 2020 from N36, 256. 08 in October 2020.”

Commuters in Zamfara (N595.22) Bauchi (N510.65) and Nasarawa ( N438.45) states paid the highest fare on bus journey, while Abia (N195.24) Borno (N213.21) and Kebbi (N220.30) paid the lowest fare.

Commuters in Niger (N1,520.46), Kogi (N390.15) and Taraba (N360.40) states paid the highest journey fare by motorcycle per drop, while Adamawa ( N75.99), Katsina (N110.40) and Kebbi ( N140.28) paid the lowest fare.

The report from the bureau also showed that Delta, ( N2,294.23), Beyelsa ( 2,215.65) and Rivers (2,185.10) top states where passengers paid the highest fare on water way, while Borno ( N229.10), Gombe (N280.10) and Kebbi (N300) were states with the lowest water transport fares.
