African Climate Stories, a sustainability and climate action-focused organisation, has been named recipient of the Environmental Sustainability Champion Award at the 2026 Ibile Youth Dinner and Award Night, in recognition of its contributions to climate advocacy and environmental protection.
The organisers, Ibile Youth Academy, in collaboration with the Lagos State Youth Ambassadors, announced the honour in a letter dated 24 March 2026, praising the organisation’s consistent efforts in promoting sustainable practices and driving climate action across Nigeria.
The award ceremony, themed “Ibile Elegance – Celebrating the Spirit of Lagos,” was held on Friday at the Ikeja Youth Centre in Lagos.
According to the organisers, the recognition highlights African Climate Stories’ impact in raising awareness on environmental issues and encouraging community-driven responses to climate change.
In the letter, the organisers described the organisation’s work as commendable and worthy of recognition for its sustained impact in advancing environmental sustainability.
Speaking while receiving the award, Co-Founder of African Climate Stories, Nina Mbah, thanked the organisers for the recognition and called for increased commitment to sustainable living.
“This award is a reminder that the work we do matters, but it is also a call to action,” she said. “Climate change is no longer a distant issue; it is here with us. Every Nigerian has a role to play in adopting more sustainable practices and protecting our environment for future generations.”
