Hours after President Bola Tinubu Abdulrasheed Bawa, as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the agency Director of Operation, Abdulkarim Chukkol, has taken over in acting capacity.
The President had on Wednesday, following Bawa’s suspension, directed the erstwhile Chairman to hand over to the Director of Operation at the agency, to pave way for the investigation of weighty allegations of abuse of office leveled against him.
Chukol on Thursday assumed office in acting capacity at the anti graft agency’s headquarters in Abuja
Chukol , a trained investigator/detective, graduated in the year, 2000 from the University of Maiduguri.

He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Quantico, and has a Postgraduate Diploma in Criminal Justice Education, from University of Virginia.
Amongst the numerous educational attainments, Chukol, has a certificate in Criminal Justice Education, from the Canadian Police College as well as Diploma in Cybersecurity and Spectrum Monitoring, from the United States Telecommunications Training Institute.
BusinessDay gathered that Chukol had prior to his new assignment, led several investigations that yielded him partnerships with leading agencies like the Serious Organised Crimes Agency of the United Kingdom, Queensland Police of Australia, the Federal Bureau of Investigations of the US, as well as the Office of Inspector General of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
He has been a regular feature in several events involving the EFCC, where he represented the suspended Chairman.
