Fourteen Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officials are set to undergo disciplinary proceedings by the state’s prevailing rules and regulations. This action comes in response to allegations of extortion and high-handed conduct exhibited by these personnel.
Among the affected officials are 11 senior members and three junior staff, all accused of extorting from motorists at various locations across the state.
Adebayo Taofiq, the Director of the Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, has confirmed these developments.
He revealed that the cases involving the implicated officers have undergone thorough investigations and will now be subject to review by the “Government Disciplinary Committee known as the Personnel Management Board (PMB) Discipline,” which will adjudicate their matters following the Public Service Rules.

In the wake of these allegations, Bolaji Oreagba, the General Manager of LASTMA, has pledged to maintain a rigorous stance on enforcing discipline within the agency. He emphasized that the organization is committed to eradicating the few individuals who tarnish its reputation.
Oreagba stated, “We thereby call on residents, especially the motoring public, to support us by promptly reporting any errant officers at the nearest LASTMA offices or by using any of the Agency’s complaints hotlines, with proof of evidence.”
He further advised all agency officials to carry out their duties in accordance with the stipulated laws governing the authority, cautioning that any personnel found “bringing the agency or the government into disrepute shall face the consequences.”
