67 soldiers, 31 police officers killed in three months under Tinubu – SBM

Deaths and garbled narratives at Okuama

No fewer than 129 security personnel, including 67 soldiers and 31 police officers, were killed under President Bola Tinubu in the last quarter (October–December) of 2023, a new report by SBM Intelligence says.

Operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS), correctional officers, customs officers, and personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were also part of the casualties reported during this period.

In the report titled “Media Reported Killings in Nigeria,” 2308 deaths were recorded between October and December 2023.

The reported deaths included civilians, bandits, Boko Haram, vigilantes, soldiers, cultists, kidnappers, IPOB, armed robbers, and security personnel.

According to the report, Borno State recorded the highest number of deaths during this period with 540 casualties, while Gombe recorded one death, which is the lowest.

Violent incidents, including attacks from terrorists, Boko Haram, and armed robbers; abductions; and gang clashes, were recorded during this period.
