2027 Election Insights: Was the PFIPC scandal a lone forgery scheme or enabled by insiders?

 

Recently, a man calling himself Director-General of the “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council” ran offices out of the Federal Secretariat, met with ambassadors, and opened bank accounts, all while the presidency insists the agency never legally existed. Yet the same council appears in the signed 2026 Appropriation Act with a N1.3 billion allocation, raising an uncomfortable question: how does an “illegal” body make it into a national budget signed by the president himself?

The saga has since spiralled into counter-accusations, a defamation threat, and a 30-day ICPC investigation ordered to get to the bottom of it.
