In what seems to an ongoing move towards positioning himself for the 2027 governorship contest, Barau Jibrin, deputy Senate president, has donated 61 cars and 1,136 motorcycles to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the grassroots level in Kano State.
The gesture, sources in the party hinted, was geared at empowering members of the party, and to enhance grassroots mobilisation for party activities.
Speaking while making the presentation, Jibrin said that the motorcycles were designated for ward chairmen, while the cars would be allocated to party leaders, including local government and zonal chairmen.
Also, speaking Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, APC national chairman, expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for appointing key party members from the state to ministerial and other strategic positions.
“We appreciate President Tinubu for making it possible to appoint Mariya Bunkure as minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Abdullahi Atta as minister of State for Works and Housing.
“We also thank President Tinubu for appointing Rabiu Bichi as managing director of Hadejia River Basin Development Authority,” he said.

He said that the people of Kano State would continue to support the party in appreciation of Mr. Tinubu’s commitment to the state.
The APC national chairman, also appreciated President Tinubu for making it possible to appoint Mariya Bunkure as Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Abdullahi Atta as minister of State for Works and Housing.

He emphasized that the people of Kano State would continue to support the party in appreciation of Tinubu’s commitment to the state.
In his earlier address, Abdullahi Abbas, Kano State chairman of the party, commended Jibrin’s empowerment initiative and urged other politicians to provide palliatives to their constituents, especially during Ramadan.
