A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Buba Galadima, has declared that the party is confident of defeating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election, regardless of the candidate it fields.
Galadima made the remark at the party’s national convention in Abuja, held under the leadership of former Senate President David Mark.
Speaking to party members, he said, “If ADC fields a corpse in 2027, it will still defeat President Tinubu. What will deliver victory for us is courage. We must remain strong and resolute.”
He alleged that there were attempts to frustrate the party’s convention, particularly in securing the venue, but noted that the ADC leadership stood its ground.
“They did everything to deny us this venue, but we resisted. If we had not done that, they wouldn’t have allowed us to even campaign for the 2027 election,” he added.
In his remarks, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal,
former Sokoto State governor, urged party stakeholders to put aside personal interests and make sacrifices for the success of the ADC.
Tambuwal stressed that unity, discipline, and commitment among party leaders would be crucial if the party hopes to mount a serious challenge in the 2027 presidential race.
