Upward trend at the NSE. ASI gains 1.33%

Securities dealers foresee remote trading encouraging direct transactions by investors 

Market performance this week will be primarily driven by investors’ reactions to the outcome of the MPC meeting which maintained the status quo on all monetary policy rates.

Highest gaining stock today was Dangote Cement Plc., as the share price gained N6.79 (3.85%) to close N183 while oil and gas player, Total Nigeria Plc. followed with N6.5 (2.48%). Counterpart Conoil Plc. which recently released its HY result trailed with a N3.59 (10.23%) gain to be followed by financial service provider, Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc. which closed N16.05 on account of a N0.55 (3.55%) gain. Oando Plc. which recently signed a $115.8 million midstream agreement closed at N5.34 on account of a N0.25 ((4.91%) gain.

In total, 15 companies recorded positive changes to their share price value bolstering the  benchmark index, All Share Index with a 1.33% increase to close at 28, 209.93. In 3,452 deals the transaction volume stood at 231.46 million with the total value of value of stocks traded being N2.48 billon, placing market capitalization at 9.69 trillion.
