Information Technology services firm, Reliance Info systems Limited, is pushing Nigerian enterprises to deploy cutting-edge technology solutions that reduce cost of doing business while at the same protecting enterprise networks from being attacked and compromised.

Olayemi Popoola, managing director, Reliance Infosystems, speaking in Lagos at the unveiling of Matrix IP-PBX and Cyberoam Unified Threat Management (UTM) Appliance, said businesses need to adequately protect their IT infrastructure and also save money on communications which takes a large chunk of operating costs.

He said “In today’s dynamic business environment, business processes are getting complex, raising the need for better availability, improved responsiveness and data security at reduced operations costs. Globalisation has enforced modern enterprises to work, regardless of geographical boundaries.”

Olayemi noted that Matrix Enterprise IP-PBX range which allows businesses to leverage GSM/3G with legacy networks and variety of subscribers’ options, offers the flexibility and set of advance features that intuitively adapts to the ever-evolving needs of the dynamic businesses thus empowering employees to work from home, other branches and any remote location uninterrupted.

He said Matrix IP-PBX solutions, whose range includes Eternity GE, Eternity ME, Eternity PE, Sapex among others, provide seamless mobility and universal connectivity. Matrix IP-PBX offer features that reduces the cost of local and international calls; turns the mobile phones to extensions; creates multiple VoIP gateways; allows multi-party conferencing and virtual meetings.

It also provides automated call-back to employee “flashing” Matrix trunk lines and other features which have been successfully deployed in the energy, finance, government, healthcare and transportation sectors.

The platform also offers immense benefit to traveling executives, sales persons, remote branches and home offices.

Franca Emeana Anozie, corporate communications manager, noted that Cyberoam UTM is fast replacing the traditional firewalls in corporate networks due to its unique value proposition of identity-based all-encompassing threat management components.

She stated that Cyberoam is an all-in-one solution that is capable of solving organisation challenges in terms of security, branch connectivity and users’ productivity.

Sylvia Akaleme, business development manager, explained that the “Layer 8” innovation of Cyberoam UTM presents immediate solution to the silent challenge of any corporate organisation.

“The highpoint of Layer 8 is its ability to empower IT security professionals to granularly weave the security architecture of their organisations around the human elements,” she said.

“Facebook will not just pop open by itself if no one initializes it. IP addresses will not generate traffic by itself unless someone invokes it. Cyberoam has gone beyond the traditional security offering to dovetailing IT security management to the user layer.”

Akaleme further stated that the “layer 8” advantage is a milestone achievement, landmark technology breakthrough and strategic tool in the hands of IT Security professionals to further push organisational security beyond the traditional boundaries.

Reliance Infosystems has been Cyberoam’s Premier Partner for more than three years having deployed more than 2000 units of Cyberoam across all industry segments in Nigeria.
