NSE ends the week on a 0.04% gain

The NSE ended the week on a positive note closing with a 0.04% gain on the All Share Index at N27,577.52. In 2,843 deals, investors staked N1.52 billion naira on 272.85 million shares with UBA being the most traded. The financial institution had 76.32 million of its shares exchanged in 299 deals. Market capitalization closed at 9.47 trillion.
Beverage producer, 7-Up Bottling Company led the gainers’ chart with a N6.45 (4.61%) gain to close at N146.45. The company had 97,494 of its shares traded amounting to a value of N14.14 million. Conoil Plc. followed suit with a N2.2 (10.19%) gain to close at N23.79 while Guinness Nigeria Plc. closed at N100 on account of a N2.15 (2.2%) gain. Total Nigeria Plc. gained N1.08 (0.45%) to close at N241.08 while PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc, the household goods manufacturer gained N0.73 (4.07%) to close at N18.65.
Nestle Nigeria Plc. posted the greatest decline of N5 (0.6%) to close at N825 while Lafarge Africa Plc. followed with a N2 (3.35%) decline to close at N56. Distillers, Nigerian Breweries Plc. closed at N141.75 with a N0.75 (0.53%) gain. With a N0.19 (4.88%) drop, B.O.C. Gasses Plc. trailed to close at N3.7 while Custodian & Allied Plc. closed at N3.85 with a N0.15 (3.75%) decline.
