NSE All-Share Index down 0.17%

After appreciating three consecutive days this week, the All-Share Index depreciated on Wednesday, dropping 0.17% to close at 28,166.42 down from 28,214.57 the previous day.

In spite of the decrease, the volume of shares traded closed higher as a total of 410.10 million shares valued at N3.62 billion were transacted in 4,179 deals. Investors recorded a decline as the market capitalization settled at 9.67 trillion.

Diamond Bank Plc. principled the turnover volume, accounting for 141.36 million shares valued at N164.41 million. It was followed by FCMB Group Plc.  With a total of 48.10 million worth N 48.16 million while FBN Holdings Plc. sold 40.76 million shares valued at N126.25 million. Access Bank Plc. traded 25.38 million shares worth N141.29 million and Zenith International Bank Plc. transacted 24.11 million shares valued a t N371.21 million.

Oil and gas players, Total Nigeria Plc. (Total) and Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc. (Mobil) gained the most. The former gained N13.5 to close at N283.5 while Mobil gained N8.55 to close a t N179.55. Counterpart Forte Oil Plc. closed at N143.5 on account of a N1.46 gain while distillers, Nigerian Breweries Plc. gained N1.46 to close a t N143.5.
