NSE All Share Index gains 0.07% as investors seal 3,215 deals

With 3,215 deals consummated on the trading floor today, the All Share Index dropped 0.07% to close at 27,839.95.

A volume of 328.20 million shares exchanged hands at a value of N2.89 billion with Access bank Plc. being the top pick. The financial institution had 84.09 million of its shares traded in 171 deals to close at M5.56 down (0.18%).

In summary, financial institutions emerged as the top 5 traded with FBN Holdings Plc. as the runner up. Reporting a volume of 54.14 million, United Bank for Africa Plc. followed with 38.85 million. Skye Bank Plc. and Zenith International Bank Plc. trailed with volumes of 38.53 million and 21 million respectively.

Day one of the market week saw 21 companies recording gains. Led by Total Nigeria Plc., the oil & gas player closed at N262.5 on account of a N12.15 (5%) increase which was a notable gap from counterpart Conoil Plc. which gained N3.26 (10.24%) to close at N35.1. MRS Oil Nigeria Plc. trailed with a N1.83 (4.99%) gain while Mobil posted N1 (0.59%) to close N171.

Market capitalization as such, ended with a position of 9.56 trillion.

7UP Bottling Company Plc. led the converse list on account of a N7.3 (4.98%) decline closely followed by Forte Oil Plc. which dropped N5.66 (3.52%) to close a t N155.35. Distillers, Nigerian Breweries closed at N143.36 dropping N1.64 (1.13%) closely trailed by trusted household names Nestle Nigeria Plc. (N1) and P Z Cussons Nigeria Plc. (N0.93).
