The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria CIBN), Lagos State branch, has concluded plans to rebuild the nation’s value system it says is critical economic development.

To achieve this, the Institute is gathering key operators in the banking industry and a wide spectrum of people in strategic sectors of the economy to brainstorm at this year edition of the Lagos Bankers’ Nite, which comes up toda in Lagos.

According to Taiwo Ige, chairman, CIBN, Lagos branch, everything about building a nation, economic development and promoting or expanding the critical sectors of the economy is premised on value system.

She said the theme, “Rebuilding the value system: The strategic imperative for Nigeria’s economic development,” was foundational to the economic prosperity of the nation, adding that value played crucial role in every human endeavour.

Also speaking at the conference in Lagos, Arinola Adeniyi, chairman, organising committee, 2015 Lagos Bankers’ Nite, said unlike what used to obtain in the past where only bankers greased the event, a broad spectrum of economic players were factored in and invited to the event because of the role they play in economic development.
