IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, last week today marked the tenth anniversary of SME Toolkit with a Global Partner Conference in Lagos, Nigeria, pledging expansion to serve more entrepreneurs.

The event brought together representatives of local SME Toolkit projects from around the world to share experiences, train partners on the latest initiatives, and gather ideas for future program development.

SME Toolkit, an innovation of IFC, developed in partnership with IBM, leverages the latest information and communication technologies to help entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises in emerging markets learn and implement sustainable business management practices and increase their productivity, capacity, and access to finance and new markets.

Through a network of global partners and local distribution partners, the Toolkit provides entrepreneurs and SME managers with online and mobile phone access to key business management information, interactive tools, and educational resources free of charge.

The event, which was co-sponsored by Enterprise Development Centre of the Pan-African University and supported by IBM, from April 8 – 12, 2013 with the theme, “Enabling SME Success: Becoming the Go-To Portal for Business Growth.”
