Equinox expands in Africa, opens new headquarters in Lagos

Equinox International, a leading provider of infrastructure technology solutions and services across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, has announced the opening of its new African headquarters facility in Lagos, Nigeria in support of the company’s aggressive growth strategy.

This expansion effort includes major investments in engineering, sales, marketing, and operations to better serve the potential growth opportunities created by Equinox International, the mother company of Equinox Nigeria, and the latest technological advancements in the ICT industry, according to a release from Business Wire on Thursday.

“We are extremely pleased that our expansion plan for Africa is on track in 2013, and that we are launching our new regional operations out of Lagos,” said Osama Qadan, managing director of Equinox International.

“Nigeria has an addressable market of over 160 million people, a robust economy, extensive oil and gas reserves, and a large telecommunications sector. These realities have created attractive revenue opportunities in strategic sectors such as telecommunications, industrial, energy and financial services. Nigeria is also benefiting from its fast-growing financial sector, skilled work force and favorable business and investment climates,” he added.

Equinox, which was established in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 2005, is planning to significantly grow its African engineering, client relationship and business development teams, as well as service operations for infrastructure solutions design and deployment throughout the African continent. Its Egypt office will continue to serve as the company’s headquarters for the entire MENA region.

The new regional headquarters in Lagos will host the company’s operations not only for Nigeria, but also for the entire West African region, the statement said, adding that all sales, marketing, human resources, finance and Equinox’s consulting services would be managed and delivered with local talent, which is a hallmark of the company’s operational strategy.
