23 stocks had a midweek gain at the NSE with capitalization closing at N9.498 trillion.

Off the 23, Conoil Plc. posted the major growth by N2.42 (10.17%) to close at N26.21. 27. The oil company had 271,516 of its shares traded amounting to a value of N7,115,194.36. Closing at N42.28, Unilever Nigeria Plc. followed with a gain of N2.01 (4.99%).  N6,847,829.24 worth of the consumer good manufacturer’s share were traded. A N1.51 (0.87%) gain placed Dangote Cement Plc. as the runner up with 31,609 of it share traded to close at N174.51.

Conversely, Seplat Petroleum Development Company Ltd led the decliners’ table by posting a N5 (1.54%) drop to close at N320. The oil company was followed by diversified food products manufacturer, Cadbury Nigeria Plc. which declined by N0.2 (1.43%) to close a N13.8. Nigerian Breweries trailed with a N0.12 (0.08%) decline.

Trades on the exchange floor resulted in the ASI gaining 0.23% to close at 27,642.13 basis points while banks continued the trend of being top traded.
