NSE market capitalisation drops by N56bn in bearish trading

Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) opened for the week on Monday on a downward trend with the market indicators dropping by 0.50 percent as a result of price losses.

The market capitalisation lost N56 billion to close at N11.169 trillion against the N11.225 trillion posted on Friday.

Also, the All-Share Index, which opened at 35,109.33, lost 173.72 points to close at 34,935.61.

Unilever topped the losers’ chart with N1.63 to close at N57.02 per share.

UAC Property and Stanbic IBTC came second with a loss of 90k each to close at N14.30 and N14 per share, respectively.

Berger Paints lost 68k to close at N6.82, while Oando dipped by 30k to close at N15 per share.

On the contrary, Total led the gainers’ chart, appreciating by N9 to close at N152 per share.
