The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) traded higher for the second consecutive day Tuesday. The index crossed 30,000 points for the first time since October 2015.

The Index appreciated by 2.40% to close at 30,127.82 points compared with an appreciation of 2.27% recorded Monday.

The appreciation recorded in the share prices of Dangote Cement, Transcorp, Zenith Bank, Guinness and GT Bank were mainly responsible for the gain recorded in the Index.

Year-to-Date (YTD), the NSE ASI appreciated by 5.19%. Similarly, the Market Capitalization appreciated by 2.40% to close at N10.35trn, compared with the appreciation of 2.27% recorded yesterday to close at N10.11trn.

The total value of stocks traded on the floors of The NSE today was N7.93billion, up by 16.81% from N6.79billion recorded Monday.

The total volume of stocks traded was 541.86million in 5,727 deals.

The most actively traded stocks were GT Bank, Access Bank and Zenith Bank. The most actively traded sectors were, financial Services, Conglomerate and Healthcare.
