Hon. Princess Chi Ezeh, Managing Director of Muna Sylver Nigeria Limited, has congratulated the Area Controller, Tin Can Island Port (TCIP) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Comptroller Frank Onyeka, on his recent achievements in revenue generation.
Princess Chi, on Tuesday, commended Onyeka’s efforts and encouraged him to replicate his success at Tin Can Island Port.
“I am specially congratulating Comptroller Onyeka on his recent appointment as Area Controller of Tincan Customs and also for his admirable performance in revenue generation displayed in his former capacity as Deputy Comptroller in-charge of Apapa Port Gate,” she stated.
She noted that Onyeka had a record of strong revenue performance in the Nigeria Customs Service. “When you look at Comptroller Onyeka’s history in recent years in Customs, you will observe that he has been creating records, especially in revenue generation. He set new revenue records at Onne Port before moving to Apapa, where he was part of the winning team which collected N2.3 trillion in 2024.”
Comptroller Onyeka was among five newly promoted Comptrollers from the Apapa Port Command who received special recognition awards for their contributions to revenue collection in 2024. He was recognised for his role in revenue generation at the Apapa Command.
Princess Chi further expressed confidence in Onyeka’s ability to meet expectations at Tin Can Island Port. “The expectation of industry stakeholders is that Onyeka’s emergence as Tincan Customs Area Controller would mean more revenue milestones. However, this is no small feat when you consider the fact that he is replacing a high-performer in ACG Dera Nnadi who hit N1 trillion and remodelled the TCIP administrative building.”
As Vice President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Western Zone, she also urged Onyeka to uphold the standard of cleanliness and orderliness established at the command under ACG Nnadi’s leadership.
She highlighted the importance of maintaining public infrastructure and called on Onyeka to ensure the effective use of facilities at Tin Can Island Port. “Noting the poor culture of maintenance, especially on public assets in Nigeria, Princess advised Comptroller Onyeka to ensure the state-of-the-art facilities at Tin Can Island Port are efficiently utilised to maximise the value of the modern equipment.”
The TCIP Customs administrative building underwent major renovations for the first time in 40 years under Nnadi’s leadership. The transformation included the construction of a Quarter Guard podium and a Police Gate House, which was recently commissioned by the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Bashir Adeniyi.
