A 120-member strong team of police personnel drawn from The Ports Authority Police Command (PAPC), the Lagos State Police Task Force Unit and a detachment of the Police Mobile Force (PMF) last week raided the Tin-Can Island Port Complex (TCIPC), Apapa and arrested 38 suspected miscreants.

The police team led by James Navokhi, a chief superintendent, and assisted by Sabo Baba, a deputy superintendent, raided the first and second gates of the TCIPC.

Mike Njoku, police public relations officer of PAPC, said the arrested suspects have been handed over to the Police Task Force office at Ikeja for further investigation.

This new raid is coming barely two weeks after a similar one was carried out last month leading to the arrest of 64 suspected miscreants.

Sherifat Disu-Olajoku, commissioner of the Port Authority Police Command, who expressed displeasure at the high human and vehicular traffic around the ports in Lagos, said the exercise would be a continuous one.
