The Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) has issued the full business case compliance certificate on the proposed Badagry deep seaport and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) floating dockyard to the Federal Ministry of Transportation.
Emmanuel Onwodi, the director of transport at ICRC presented both certificates to Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation in Abuja recently.
Onwodi said the Badagry Port project would create a total ecosystem in terms of shipping, transportation, and job creation, and would also enable the country to compete favourably with the Cotonou seaport.

On the NIMASA floating dock, he said, about $65 million in revenue will come to the Federal Government and over 800,000 jobs would be created.
He also said that when operational, it had been estimated to generate $2.6 million for the country.
Amaechi in a statement by Eric Ojiekwe, the ministry’s director of Press, said that the ministry would write to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for approval of the projects.
