APM Terminals Apapa gives medical equipment to local health centre

APM Terminals Apapa donated medical equipment to the Ojora Olugbode Primary Health Centre in Apapa Iganmu, Lagos, in what it described as the strengthening of healthcare delivery in the host community.

The facility received an autoclave, oxygen concentrator, refrigerator and haematocrit analysers to improve laboratory diagnostics and patient care, particularly for pregnant women and children.

Frederik Klinke, chief executive officer of APM Terminals Nigeria, said the donation reflects the company’s commitment to supporting communities around its operations.

“This donation is part of our effort to strengthen healthcare delivery where we operate. Beyond providing equipment, we will follow up to ensure they are properly utilised and help raise the standard of care in this community,” he said.

Layi Ogunjobi, medical adviser to APM Terminals Nigeria, said the company has also supported infrastructural upgrades at the health centre, adding that the new diagnostic tools will enable more efficient and reliable services.

“The equipment will help ensure quality laboratory services for community members, especially pregnant women and children,” Ogunjobi said.

Jimoh Olawale, chairman of the Apapa Iganmu Local Council Development Area, welcomed the donation and appealed for further support for schools and health facilities in the area. He also disclosed plans to establish a general hospital within the council. The donation is part of APM Terminals Apapa’s corporate social responsibility efforts.
