Persons on essential services exempted from 8.pm – 6.am curfew, says PTF

COVID-19 lockdown

The National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Sani Aliyu, announced on Wednesday that persons on essential services are exempted from the 8.pm to 6.am curfew imposed by the Federal Government.

Aliyu who made the announcement at the regular press briefing by PTF was reacting to information that security personnel prevented persons on essential services from movement, in Lagos and Abuja.

According to him, the PTF has resolved to meet with relevant security agencies to ensure that persons on essential services are not harassed during the curfew period.

“On the curfew, of course journalists are exempted. I am surprised that people on essential services are having issues.

“We will be meeting with security agencies and we want to make it very clear that people on essential duties are exempted from the curfew,” Aliyu stated.
