Yakurr Chairman leads by example in supporting MSME development

Yibala Igri Inyang, chairman of Yakurr Local Government Area and Chairman of the Cross River State Chairmen Forum, has visited the Director-General (DG) of the Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA), Great Ogban, to express his strong support for the agency’s MSME development initiatives.

“I commend the DG and MEDA for their tireless work in empowering our MSMEs. By submitting applications for Yakurr LGA for the BOI business support loans and free CAC business registration, we are demonstrating our commitment to this vital sector. I encourage other local government chairmen to follow suit,” Inyang said.

He also expressed his gratitude to Governor Bassey Otu for championing MSME development as a key component of the state’s “People First” agenda.

The DG of MEDA commended Inyang’s leadership and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting MSMEs across the state. The meeting also saw the introduction of the One Local Government One Product (OLOP) Campaign, a strategic initiative designed to boost the economic growth of each of the state’s 18 Local Government Areas.

Francis Ekpo, DG of the Cross River State Rural Electrification Agency (REA), was also present at the meeting.
